5th Symposium on

L2 Interaction

Overview

CAN Asia will be holding its annual symposium on second language (L2) interaction at the University of Electro-Communications (UEC) in Tokyo in May, 2022.

 

It will primarily be a face-to-face event, with a small number of asynchronous  video presentations prior to the symposium as well.

Proceedings

​The symposium proceedings will be available online here closer to the conference. The deadline for submitting a paper to the proceedings is 31 March 2022.

Call for Papers

The call for submissions has now closed. Thanks to everyone who submitted an abstract. We look forward to seeing you in Tokyo in May.

Details

The symposium will involve data-based presentations of micro-analytic research on interaction involving L2 users, followed by roundtable discussions among the presenters and participants.

 

In order to maximize the quality of the discussion, the number of presentations and the number of non-presenting participants will be limited.

  

This symposium is hosted by the Conversation Analysis Network-Asia (CAN-Asia) and co-sponsored by the CAN-Kansai and CAN-Kanto groups.

Venue

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the venue for this event has changed to the University of Electro-Communications (UEC) in Chofu, Tokyo. 

 

The symposium will be held in the library building, Room 306. The library is on the East Campus, building number 27 on the campus map.

 

To get to the room, you should enter the building on the first floor and take the elevator to the third floor. The entrance to the library is on the second floor, but you shouldn't actually try to enter the library itself.
