CALL for PAPERS
The CAN-Asia Symposium on L2 Interaction will be held at Hanoi University of Industry in Vietnam on 6-7 March, 2026.
Please submit an abstract (200 to 300 words in English) via this online form.
The deadline for submissions is 31 October, 2025.
Each oral presentation will be allotted 20 minutes plus 10 minutes for discussion. Presentations will be organized into thematic sessions, with a roundtable discussion among the presenters and participants following each block.

Poster presentations will be take place during a dedication session. Posters offer more direct interaction with a smaller audience and can lead to greater feedback.
All presentations should be based on the micro-analysis of recorded interaction in which at least one speaker is using a second language. While most presentations use Conversation Analysis, we are also welcome researchers using other micro-level discourse analytic approaches.
Presentations will be in English and will be held consecutively (not in parallel), so the total number of presentations is limited.

You may be listed as a co-author on multiple presentations, but you can only be the first author on one.
Notification of acceptance will be made by mid-November, 2025.

Papers will be more likely to be accepted if they:
-
have a clear focus
-
briefly outline the background to the data
-
indicate the study's findings
-
demonstrate a solid understanding of the research approach
-
are free of language or formatting errors

Accepted presenters (oral and poster) will be asked to submit an extended overview for the online proceedings by 31 January, 2026.
