Call for Proposals

The Next-Turn Forum is a supportive academic venue for graduate students working in Conversation Analysis for Second Language Acquisition (CA-SLA) to present work in progress and receive detailed, constructive feedback from an engaged scholarly audience.

Each presentation will consist of:

  • 20 minutes for presentation of ongoing research

  • 30 minutes for collaborative discussion, feedback, and questions

This extended discussion format is designed to foster careful engagement with developing analyses, datasets, methodological questions, and theoretical directions, while creating a collegial space for scholarly dialogue and mentorship.

We warmly invite Master’s and doctoral students at any stage of their research to submit proposals related to CA-SLA, including but not limited to:

  • Interactional practices in second language use or learning

  • Classroom interaction and pedagogy

  • Embodiment, multimodality, and participation

  • Repair, sequence organization, and intersubjectivity

  • Methodological or analytic reflections on CA-SLA research

Submission Guidelines
All presenters must be enrolled in a graduate program at the time of the forum. Please submit:
