Edward Sumoto
Principal Consultant
Environmental Resources Management
Resource Distribution and Just Transition:
What’s “fair” in Development?
Abstract:
Sustainable development is often marketed as an environmental and educational issue, but all the SDG targets are connected. Namely, social issues in including peace, safety and gender are crucial. In today’s very volatile world with extreme geopolitical hostility once again on the rise, we must objectively assess the reality and constraints of the resource value chain. In this talk, we’ll dig a little deeper than the “greenwashing” tactics of government and corporations and see how our everyday realities and your future careers may impact the sustainability of our planet.
Bio:
Edward has worked at the UN, governments, startups and several multinational corporations in the field of sustainable development and renewable energy. Currently he is a Principal Consultant at ERM, a 50 year old international environmental consultancy and surveyor.
